What do you mean by "100% Satisfaction Guaranteed"?
We guarantee that you will be 100% satisfied with your item. If for some reason you are not, simply contact us and we will either replace the item, or refund your money and arrange for return shipment at no charge to you.
What is the difference between a premade scrapbook page and a custom scrapbook page?
A premade scrapbook page is a pre-designed layout that fits a particular category. These layouts are made and ready to have your picture placed on them.
A custom design is a layout that is made to the customers specifications, in which the customer has the option of choosing colors, titles, etc. These are normally designed around a specific photograph or personal event. The colors, embellishments, etc. that are included in the page are chosen from the photograph or event itself.
Why would the pattern or color in the item I receive vary slightly from the picture I see on your website?
If a paper has been discontinued or is temporarily unavailable, a paper with similar pattern and color will be used to replace it. The page will still have the same overall look and feel as the original picture.
Due to internet browser setting, the exact color shade may differ than the image shown for our products.
What does "archival safe" mean?
Acids found in regular paper products will cause yellowing and deterioration of photos. Products that have been labeled "archival safe" have been certified to have these acids neutralized. For more in depth information, please see our article "What does it mean to be acid and lignin free?".
How does the custom design process work?
If you don't see what you are looking for, or you have that special picture you would like scrapbooked, contact us about our custom work. We can then discuss your ideas, and the details of what you are looking for.
After the free consulting process, a price quote, and contract will be provided to you. Once we receive the signed contract, we will begin the design process. A sketch with paper samples will then be emailed to you for your review/approval. At this time you will be able to request any changes you would like to be made. If changes are needed, a second email with changes will be sent for your final approval. An invoice will then be emailed to you, and once payment has been received, the item will be created. When the item is complete, you will be notified and the item will be shipped.
Can you create a layout using my child's favorite cartoon character?
Due to copyright laws, we are unable to use, or recreate images of licensed characters without the permission of the copyright owner. This process is normally lengthy and can be extremely expensive, therefore A Scrap of Time will not design pages using licensed characters.
If you would like a scrapbook page, framable, embellishment, or card to include a licensed character you have the option to order a design to match the theme you desire. This can be done using colors and original design, and then you (the customer) may purchase manufactured embellishments or stickers to be placed on the layout, card, etc. For example, for a Disney Princess layout, a layout designed with a castle and flowers could be ordered and then Princess stickers or store-bought embellishments could be placed on the pages after they are shipped to you.
While searching online for scrapbook page ideas, you may come across a number of amazing pages that use licensed characters. Unfortunately, these pages were either made with a copyright release from the copyright owner, or were made without the copyright owner's consent, i.e. illegally.
Will you alter my original photographs or memorabilia?
We do not recommend that you send your original or irreplacable photographs/memorabilia to us. Photographs provided should be replicas, as they may need to be cropped to fit the layout. Digital photographs are preferred for custom design, as they can be resized as needed.
We will not alter any memorabilia, unless requested to do so by you. This will be covered in greater detail in our Custom Order Form.
How long does it take?
The amount of time it takes to complete a custom order is dependant on the following:
- The complexity of the desired layout
- The number of current custom orders in progress
Our average turnaround time from the customer's final approval is approximately 2 weeks.
